More than 13 different beneficial wildflower such as Butterfly Milkweed (Asclepias), Aster, Purple Coneflower, Rocket Larkspur, Indian Blanket, Lilliput Zinnia, Siberian Wallflower, Gayfeather, French Marigold, Sensation Cosmos, Bright Lights Cosmos, Mexican Sunflower, Hoary Vervain. Like all wildflowers, Save The Monarchs Seed Collection is tolerant to drought, heat, and poor soils and capable of thriving in many difficult gardens across the country. The 13 varieties in the Save The Monarchs Collection actually benefit from being sown in the fall so they may experience a hard winter freezing before germinating in the spring. This process of cold-stratification is proven to help many seeds perform best in the spring, as it replicates the earth's natural cycles.
About Our Premium Mix
Wildflowers are one of the easiest, hardiest, and fastest-growing flowers available to gardeners. Growing insect-friendly flowers is the single most important way you can help bolster your local honey bee and monarch butterfly population. This mix attracts butterflies and pollinators essential to the health and longevity of the wildflower patch.
- Wildflower blends are easy to grow from seed and recommended for direct outdoor sowing after the frost.
- Mix wildflower seeds with sand to increase visibility during sowing.
- Broadcast the seed/sand over a weeded area (this package covers up to 250 square feet) and evenly rake and lightly tamp wildflower seeds into the soil.
- Germination for the 13 varieties occurs between 20 - 30 days.
- Wildflower seeds may also be sown in the fall and will be dormant until spring.
