Herb Mix for Bees
30-90 Days to Harvest. Herb Mix For Bees Seeds. Non-GMO mix of annual and perennial herbs. This combination of seeds has been paired together for their ability to attract bees, as they are the most important pollinator in the garden. This mix includes borage, chives, basil, sage, oregano, catnip, and thyme. Each of these 7 herbs can be used in everyday cooking, making them valuable as both plants for harvest and companion planting. Sprinkle a few seeds throughout the garden, or use them as a functional border that can be enjoyed all season long. Approximately 7,000 seeds/oz.
Growing Non-GMO Mix for Bees Herb Seeds
When directly sowing, broadcast these seeds over a large area or plant 4-6 inches apart. Thin to 12-18 inches when at least 2 inches tall. A 2-gram packet will cover approximately 150-200 square feet. While these seeds can be directly sown, they may also be started indoors 6-8 weeks before the last spring frost. Direct sow or transplant 1-2 weeks after the last spring frost.
The basil will be ready for harvesting the soonest. It, along with the borage, are the only annual types in the mix. The rest may take 60 days or more to use fresh but will grow as perennials in zones 5-9. This mix may still be grown in warmer zones but should be treated as annuals.
Herb Mix for Bees in the Flower Garden
While all of these herbs are edible, they are also paired for their ability to attract pollinators. This trait makes them incredibly beneficial in both flower and vegetable gardens. Enjoy the function and beauty of their flowers and foliage when paired with other seasonal blooms like zinnias, marigolds, or coneflower.
Companion Planting With Herb Mix for Bees
The great superpower of this mix is the ability of herbs to deter pests from the garden. Basil is known to deter whitefly and mosquitoes. Borage may deter cabbage and tomato worms. Chives are known to prevent aphids, mites, and Japanese beetles. Sage, oregano, and thyme are also known to deter these, among several other well-known pests. If you are a pet lover with a feline friend, you may want to harvest some catnip every once in a while for a relaxing snack.
About Herb Mix for Bees Garden Seeds
The foliage of each herb is edible and can be used for many different purposes including culinary, medicinal, and decorative. Add a touch of nature to your home by creating your own cut flower arrangements using herbs as the filling foliage. The best part of using fresh herbs in flower arrangements is their potent aroma. More interested in their culinary use? Add some fresh herbs to a savory dish or in a refreshing drink.
Because of the decline in bee populations, it is important to support pollinator habitats by growing a variety of plants. These herbs help support them while pairing well with other vegetable or flower crops.

Tips From Our Gardeners
"Growing herbs around the garden and near walkways is a great way to benefit from their pest deterrent properties and ability to attract pollinators. I suggest growing them in border beds for easy access for harvesting throughout the year."
