This special and vibrant flower may be tinged with lore, but it’s well worth its place in your garden. Let’s discuss these lovely plants and how to care for them!
Light: Lycoris radiata flowers like scattered light and don't like strong light, so the light should not be too strong. Flower friends must consider this when choosing a planting place. They can be maintained on the north balcony or in a relatively shady place.
Soil: Lycoris radiata has very low requirements on soil. Even the garden land in Beijing area can grow well, but it is a southern flower after all, so the soil should be acidic soil, a bit sandy, breathable and permeable .
Watering: Keep the soil moist, but not water, and watering should not be too much, otherwise the rhizomes will rot. Appropriate amount of water must be supplied from 20 days before flowering to the flowering period to achieve uniform flowering and easy maintenance of flowers.
Temperature: Most species of Lycoris flower prefer warm climates. The highest temperature does not exceed 30℃ and the average temperature is 24℃. It is suitable for the growth of Lycoris radiata. The daily average temperature in winter is above 8℃ and the lowest temperature reaches 1℃, which does not affect the growth of Lycoris radiata.
Post-flowering treatment: Lycoris flowers should cut off the scape after flowering to reduce nutrient loss.
Depth: The planting depth should not be too deep, it is better to just bury the bulb top into the soil.
